Despite facing economic and emotional challenges, they find sanctuary in our classroom, which creates a space of safety, belonging, and love. Here, they learn not only academics but empathy, resilience, and self-awareness. Through art, they express identity and hope, revealing their inner brilliance. They take emotional risks, support one another, and lead with compassion. Small moments such as comforting a friend, regulating emotions, calibrating and recalibrating emotions, collaborating, define our classroom culture. My students are creators of community, seekers of justice, and artists of possibility. This classroom honors their whole selves and celebrates their growth with care and high expectations.
