Hello! First of all, let me thank you for providing me with this amazing opportunity to be an advocate for my students! For the last 24 years, I've had the privilege to teach, encourage, hug & completely LOVE children with special needs. Most of my students are unable to process, retain or apply new learning at the same rate & degree as their regular education peers. Therefore, my goal is to adjust the rate, level and delivery of instruction so it matches the cognitive needs of each child in my classroom. Sometimes, we may become frustrated and angry. On some days, we might cry because we don't remember how to do something. Other days, we might not listen or focus like we want to...because that is reality. But, more importantly, we have also learned it's okay to take a deep breath, encourage one another, give big hugs and try, try again...because that also is reality.
