My students live in an inner city neighborhood and and attend a public city school. The majority of my students come from low socioeconomic backgrounds. Sadly, many of my students are not fortunate enough to have a solid parental support system at home. Many of my students are not read to at home and have no one to help them with their academics. Therefore, many of my students need extra help with their reading and I find myself trying to make up for what my students are not given at home.
