The student's in my class are a vibrant bunch of learners in Oakland's Fruitvale neighborhood. As with the rest of our school, my 8th graders are students of color - over 90% of whom qualify for free and reduced lunch. More importantly, they are a caring, gritty, quirky, and curious group of young people. The vast majority of my students are also emerging bilingual! We are part of a wonderful learning community, but sometimes we just need a little extra support getting the supplies and resources we need.
