My kids are normal kids dealing with great challenges. One had meningitis and is confined to a wheelchair. Several have Autism. One has seizures and is homeless. Another will go to sleep if given work on paper, but can work for hours on a puzzle. One can tell you her colors, but will match them to different animals: Purple Penguin, Yellow Hippo. One speaks only Mayan. Another is a mathematician and an artist, unless he gets over-stimulated, then he runs through the school and into other classrooms, to the delight of startled children. All are heroic.
