My music students are always ready for new experiences in class. Instruments are their number one request when it comes to learning music skills! Students are engaged in everything I am teaching, from creating music stories, learning about music styles, how to read and write rhythm, and apply rhythm and other elements in small group work. I do a lot of music movement in class, as well as using voices as an instrument, and whole bodies. I teach Kindergarten through 6th grade. While the ukuleles would be used mostly for older grades, they can be introduced to younger students to learn about playing and instrument care. As a trained classical musician I introduce my own instruments to my classes also. Students are definitely having fun while learning!
