The Naylor's Nest Classroom is full of seventh grade students who strive to prepare for eighth grade and the world. We support each other through positive growth mindset while reading, analyzing, annotating, questioning, and learning. Our curriculum is based on Tennessee standards for Social Studies, Reading, Writing, and Conventions of English. This Humanities study keeps us moving forward. My students are a racially diverse group of boys and girls from rural West Tennessee. We are a Tier 1 school with most students receiving free or reduced lunch and breakfast. Our area is poor, but we are blessed with good technology at our school with one-to-one devices in seventh grade. It is my goal to make sure that my students are prepared for eighth grade and beyond in their reading, writing, and comprehension. In order to achieve this, I must ensure more opportunities for literacy and rigor in our studies.
