Welcome to Mrs. Hodges DonorsChoose site for my Function Special Education Classroom at Petal Primary. The Self Contained classroom focuses on life skills math, life skills language, daily living skills and fine motor development. The foundation of this program is to provide a program that is a comprehensive education program with a functional curriculum that promotes independence to its students. The focus of the program is to increase cognitive abilities, communication skills, adaptive behaviors, and personal independence through an academic foundation. The program is based on age appropriate activities across home, school, and community environments. By donating to this class you are helping students that are cognitively and/or adaptively challenged to become more independent in their lives by gaining skills needed in and out of the classroom.
