This is a Title I school and we are starting a Flamenco Dance class for 1st and 2nd graders! We have 16 students enrolled. We are super excited to offer these classes free of charge. All of these students have never had an opportunity to take a dance class with a professional dance teacher. Students need flamenco skirts and flamenco shoes. We also need a portable dance floor because we have carpet in our classrooms. Students need to hear themselves dance on hardwood floors and use proper shoes and skirts to experience a true dance class and learn effectively. By having these classes to younger children we hope to develop a love of fine arts and help them become better students in the classroom.
