Allowing students to express their creativity through their work is a great way to get students engaged with lessons and develop a love for learning. Creativity provides students with various benefits ranging from reduced anxiety and stress to encouraging students to be lifelong learners. As a new teacher, I want to integrate art into as many lessons as possible so that my students have the opportunity to express their thinking through creativity. The "work" in "school work" becomes fun for students when they are given outlets that encourage imagination and creativity. Manipulatives and hands-on activities help students visualize what they are learning.
