Young students need a lot of attention and engagement. Having a classroom community area will ensure that I am able to provide them with a community-feel environment and opportunities to collaborate intimately in a whole-group setting. Having a colored rug will allow them to easily identify their sit spots and ensure they still have their personal space as well. The easel will provide a better avenue for intimate instruction by preventing students from having to strain their eyes while looking up at the white board. Lastly, it will provide a space where they can share ideas with the group whether they are speaking aloud or solving a problem on the easel.

About my class
