These materials will allow my students to learn the many fields of science they are taught in 8th grade, through the exploration and the creation of models. My students use/make interactive science notebooks, where they document all of the things they've learned, either in class or through conducting investigations. So many concepts in science are learned through the use of models. Sometimes models are provided, but many times students are asked to create a model that could be used to help teach someone else about the concept. Students demonstrate their learning and understanding of a concept in a variety of ways. I encourage my students to show me what they know by creating advertisements or informational posters about a particular concept.
