The students at this school come from high poverty and lack superior literacy skills. Also the students do not have access to books at home and lack literacy support at home. We are focusing on literacy this year and giving students as many possibilities to read and get excited about reading. Chalk, Talk, Walk is a one day event that gets students excited about reading and also helps create the summer reading list.
