My students face many challenges on a daily basis; many of them lack the ability to express their basic needs in a way that is meaningful for the majority of the people they come in contact with. Despite the challenges, these amazing children with special needs are such incredible individuals who find joy in the simplest things. They have a strong desire to explore and learn new things each day. Currently they attend a preschool wing of the Niles Center which is also connected to Niles High School. Most have yet to learn to read, but as their teacher I want to push them to not only enjoy reading but find it to be a meaningful experience.
