Giving students a wide range of reading options will encourage them to pick up a book that they are able to relate to. Anyone can become a reader if they pick up the right book. Reading can help with a student's writing as well. In order to become a well-rounded individual you need perspective on the world. In our rural town it is hard to be able to understand the world around us. The best way for a child to learn is to open a book and transport to another world that they may never be able to experience otherwise.
