These headphones would make a world of a difference in my Resource Room. You will be helping up to 30 students, in grades kinder to 8th grade, spanning over 16 classrooms at our school. Our students come to the Resource Room for extra intervention help in the areas of reading, writing, math, and/or social/emotional/behavior. They would be able to use these headphones for specific reading recall lessons. Where they first read a story with a teacher. Then, throughout the week, they listen to the story on their own and practice reading it to themselves. At the end of the week, they read the story with a teacher again to see if they have improved their reading rate! With this, they also come to the Resource Room for a quiet place to take tests and assessments, where they are given all the time they need to show what they know. Headphones would help with testing by using the text to speech feature on the computer. We want to be able to accurately test a students knowledge and not have them get hung up on fluency or words they do not know. With your donation, you are making it possible for these students to have a save space to work and be successful!
