For me, going to work each day means walking into a classroom of diverse, wonderful learners from a variety of backgrounds. My students come from Indianapolis neighborhoods where the average family income is less than $30,000. Our school is Title I, and around 90% of our students receive free or reduced breakfast and lunch. While they may come from a challenging past, they are eager to challenge themselves and improve their futures. Our school works very hard to give every student the power to succeed and achieve their dreams. While we give our students one hundred and ten percent of what we have, extra support would make an immense difference for each and every one of them. Being able to truly provide these hardworking, intelligent, and fun students with the means to succeed could help set them on a new path.
