We read together as a class three times per week for about 40 minutes. The Diary of Anne Frank and Speak are novels of high interest and will further motivate them to improve their fluency, vocabulary and comprehension. Having their own copy of a chapter book, gives them the chance to really get into the story and relate to the characters. Many students in my class do not have access to books at home. Our classroom and school library are their sole resource for books. My students have developed strong feelings and have become so passionate about their reading goals this year, that I ask you to: Help me give my students the opportunity to follow along during our reading sessions with their own books.
