Many of the high school students are special needs and have never taken or fully participated in high school or any type of art studio experiences. Most have only had arts and craft experience on the elementary level. They would benefit from a more physically and intellectually engaging art experiences. Along with the therapeutic drawing and culturally responsive drawing activity they are excited to work with real artist methods and material. Some have made names for themselves such as "True Artist" a 10th grader who realized he loves drawing and collage. His courage and enthusiasm encourage his classmates.
