Do you remember how a good book could change your life when you were in elementary school? Books have the power to jump-start a child’s love of learning. I would like to bring that excitement and engagement into my classroom through the creation of a project-based learning unit which The Wild Robot chapter book will be the foundation. The level of engagement and excitement this CSTEM book will bring my students will be amazing! While reading the novel, students will code and debug their own Edison robots. Students will use the engineering process to solve the challenges of island life and to preserve the precious natural resources found there.
