Before our non-profit stepped in to turnaround this public school, it was statistically the most violent elementary school in Philadelphia. My students are bright, fiery and energetic kids that are confronted by more real-life situations than any 5-12 year old should be. Our school is now a safe haven, and where students have the opportunity to change their future. My job is to help them understand the importance of reading everyday, everywhere and as often as possible.

About my class
