If we are able to receive guided reading books, students will be able to use the texts on their level to increase their reading fluency, pace, and comprehension. Students will be grouped according to their reading ability. We will spend 20 minutes per group. Groups will consist of five to six students grouped together according to reading ability. The students will be able to use the leveled texts in order to increase reading ability. Students will be seated in a kidney shaped guided reading table and receive individualized teacher attention. The rest of the class will be in literacy centers. Three groups will be called each day. Lowest functioning groups will be called daily. My students are always saying that their pencils are broken. An electric pencil sharpener is an asset to my classroom. This will provide sharpened pencils for the students to complete all work.
