This year has been difficult for many of our students to stay motivated and engaged. I have found that fun stickers, erasers and fidgets really motivates my students to do their best. By having these incentives, my students will participate more and try to be more engaged in lessons.
Positive incentives create a positive impact in a student's academic performance and behavior. It can be challenging to teach a class that is not motivated or has disruptive behavior, but positive incentives can create a motivating classroom environment. With a combined class of 40+ it is very costly to provide my students with gifts and incentives in the classroom throughout the school year.
My students also need lots of visuals since for many Spanish is not their first language. I would use the cardstock paper to print labels that I can place around the room and for extra materials they can take home. Lastly, I want to use the wireless barcode scanner for students to check out extra Spanish books from my classroom library to keep reading at home.
