I teach a group of enthusiastic second grade students. My students live in the inner city, in a socio-economically disadvantaged community. They face many challenges outside of school, yet they come to school eager and ready to learn each and every day. My classroom consists of all different academic levels. Some students are high achievers who constantly need to be challenged, whereas, some students need extra guidance and support to achieve benchmark. With such a diverse group, our classroom could use some additional supplies and resources.
