The need is great for growing a full theater program at the high school level, and giving opportunities to students in after-school plays and musicals. It is an important program since they will take the hands-on experience they learn in the classroom and apply it in a real-life situation. I paint the big picture when I teach and my students are sponges who process, absorb and create their own piece of artistic value. Through the community with their peers, they not only gain valuable skills which are interchangeable with their future careers, but they also boost their self-confidence and pride in a place where they feel safe.

About my class
