The bean bag chair and beach chairs will give students more options for comfortable seating as they engage in self-selected sustained reading. Reading to self is an essential and daily part of our school days, and students are more engaged with their texts when they are comfortably seated. Comfortable seating will help the students get lost in a good book as they practice essential reading skills and work on building reading stamina. The bean bag chair will also be used in our peace corner to soothe children who need some space and time to calm down as they work on the very important task of self-regulating their emotions and behaviors. The laminator and pouches will be used to prepare materials for the word work station where students build their skills in phonics and decoding.
