Flexible seating in the classroom improves student engagement, provides student choice, and supports a collaborative classroom community. My students currently choose to sit at various locations with a variety of seating options. A few examples of this are: standing at tables, sitting at tables on bucket seats, kneeling with TV trays, and laying or sitting on the floor with cushions. All students utilize clipboards to complete their work at their desired learning location. Because my students are given the opportunity to choose what works best for them, they are more engaged, more successful with their academic and behavioral choices, and positively contributing to the classroom community. Wobble chairs and wobble cushions will meet the needs of students who thrive when given the choice of mobility. Wobble cushions are easy for students to grab when needed and can be placed on chairs, bucket seats, or even the floor. Wobble stools allow students mobility when needed without being disruptive to others learning. They are easily transferred and can be placed in several locations within my classroom. The utilization of clipboards allows students to stay organized while easily moving between seating options. I want to provide a learning environment that is comfortable, conducive to individual needs, and allows students to make choices to take control of their learning. I hope these products will support my mission in support of my students!
