My students crave autonomy due to lack of control over their home lives. Many of my students have suffered from trauma that affects their ability to display appropriate behavior in a general classroom setting. As first graders, they have a lot of energy that we would like to focus into their learning. With these flexible seating options, my students will take advantage of our shared space. They will be encouraged to choose a seat that is conducive to their learning. The Active Kids Chairs will allow my students to quietly fidget at their desk or small group while engaging in the activity. My students will use the Inflatable Donut Balls to sit at tables while collaborating with their peers. The Kick Bands allow students to bounce their feet without distracting their neighbors. The Flex-Space Wobble Cushions can be used at low tables, the carpet, or even in their seat to allow students to move during our lessons. It's time to end the era of disciplining kids for not sitting still. Please help my class embrace their energy and independence while cultivating knowledge.
