We need a subscription to StoryWorks which is an interactive magazine with non fiction and fictional stories. These stories are Common Core aligned and provide rigorous stories to my guided reading table. Our charter school cannot afford a school-wide reading curriculum. It is up to the teachers to provide the material. Students will be using this magazine on a daily basis for reading. Story works changed the way I teach reading so much that the students get excited about it. This magazine also has a technology portion where I can show interactive videos and provides differentiated worksheets to supplement my teaching. Because Story Works adds science and social studies texts, my students become more engaged and learn about the world around them.
