I have approximately 200 students in grades K-8. I see each class once a week for an hour. During our time together we read stories, learn about historic figures, do "of the week" activities like learning new vocabulary words, check out and read books, and have time to utilize STEM-based manipulatives and art supplies. My school is a Title 1, tuition-free public charter school in the heart of downtown Reno. Our unique location allows the students to be more involved with the community and get to know it as we walk to different places downtown for field trips and other learning activities. I love my job and have been part of this school community for 10 years as a parent, volunteer, and now staff member. I substitute taught for the 2.5 years, and am now the librarian and one of the FTC Robotics Coaches.
