For an end of year project last year, my 8th graders (then 7th graders) designed their ideal middle school classroom based on best practices they researched online. They identified a need for a "tech corner" with substantial technology to give them access to 21st Century tools. The iPads are an integral part of creating this learning environment for these learners. Creating presentations and films, watching video lectures for flipped learning, reviewing vocabulary through games, reading our online magazine subscriptions, writing essays in Google Drive, working collaboratively on projects, plus much more my students will teach me - all of this will be possible with this technology. Four iPads will work as a center, for small group work, and to help augment our existing technology. All of my students will directly benefit. This piece of their ideal classroom will be the most impactful in how they experience the curriculum.
