At Whaley School, we help children and adolescents with emotional and behavioral disabilities acquire the coping skills they need to transition back to their neighborhood schools; or, we help them graduate and receive their diploma. Usually, I tell people I got my dream job! That being said, my days at Whaley aren't easy. They present their challenges. All aside, I think my kiddos are the best! They're each a puzzle piece; it's my job to help the puzzle fit together. Then do it again the next day. Maybe again the day after that. In return, I am awarded very special moments - a heartwarming story, a brilliant project, a handmade gift, a cheerful greeting, or a thoughtful farewell. Whaley kids are the kids the other schools "don't want" or "can't handle." We take them in, give them love, and prepare them for the world. To do so, we just need a little extra help. We appreciate anything you can do to help us!
