My children come from a variety of backgrounds. Some children have attended preschool or child care since birth. Other students have never seen the inside of a school until they walk through the classroom door. Our school is a K-4 elementary building. We have about 450 students, and more than 50% of our population receives free or reduced lunch. We are a working class community. The children in my care are wonderful little people. They are excited about school, learning, and becoming readers and writers. They are still young and innocent, and I am able to tap into their imaginations and sense of wonder. My students are very loving this year. I have an endless supply of hugs and compliments every day, from "I like your shoes," to "You are the best teacher ever!" I am blessed to be able to educate my students.
