The couch and snacks I have selected for my project will help reach all students of all grades. As we are building out our counseling program, one of the essentials parts of this is creating a safe and inviting space for our students. The couch will help our students chill and have a space to study and relax, especially for our students that need a space to destress. A majority of our students work late night jobs outside of school to provide for themselves and their families and need small moments in the day to relax. Also, many of our students do have immediate access to food and often come to school hungry and have difficulty concentrating in class. The snacks will help keep students engaged throughout the day as well as promoting healthy snack options. All of these things will continue to help students remain engaged in school and on track for their post-secondary goals and plans.
