My students have been historically undeserved by the public education system while growing up in South Central, Los Angeles. I take my job of engaging my students, interesting them in school, building a scholarly culture, and teaching them rigorous skills very seriously. I utilize resources online for free to bring them into the classroom experience and make learning a part of their everyday lives. I strive to inspire my students to take our daily lessons into their real lives and apply what they've learned. I know that my job is crucial in order to keep my students invested in their own future in education and engaged as active members of their community. I utilize each new strategy and resource I am given to better the experience of my students' learning online. Before each online session with my students, I need to set up my Zoom management of the chat, participants, and videos. I try to keep my grading portal completely updated, which is a challenge as I toggle between their messages, work submissions, and the gradebook. I am contacting parents and students on apps like Remind, Misis, and Schoology to inform families of feedback or missing work to improve their students' academic performance. I also organize my classroom materials online in weekly folders, providing the assignment instructions as well as examples. All of this online work is very challenging with just one screen. I am requesting the Surface Pro Tablet in order to streamline this work online and make sure I am not missing messages and work submissions from my students. I can also use this device in the classroom to connect to my slides and provide closer proximity to students during instruction. Please help me streamline this chaotic experience of online learning with this tablet. Thank you.
