For children with autism, a space with accommodations that meet their sensory needs would be beneficial in the classroom. A bean bag chair will provide students with special needs a personalized sensory input to help them calm and focus themselves so they can be better prepared for learning and interacting with others. For children with sensory, mental, and behavioral disabilities, this item is equally as therapeutic as they are enjoyable. My students will use the seat as a place to go when they request a break or a place to go when they have worked hard in class to earn it as a reward.
