All of these titles will help my students develop their love of reading! The majority of my students are English language learners. With COVID, all of my students read at a wide range of different levels. Graphic novels, poems, and books in Spanish make my library more accessible to all students! I hope that more poetry books will make my students even more excited about the genre. Graphic novels are accessible texts that enrich the reading experience for all students, and help give extra context that my English language learners rely on during independent reading. Books on sports, animals, and anything spooky help appeal to my reluctant readers.
