When my students give speeches in class, they often experience anxiety especially since they are freshmen and learning to grow in public speaking. A podium will give them a platform to showcase their amazing speeches with more confidence. Students give speeches during the year on a topic they choose that they feel passionate about and want to create change for. Previous topics include immigration, depression, cat-calling, etc. The bands for the desks will allow me, students, to remain calm when they are feeling stressed or anxious about anything in their life. It will be an extremely helpful asset to add on to the safe space that I hope to turn my classroom into. By donating to my project, you won't only help my students focus more but also remain calm as they are in class.
