My students are refugees and immigrants coming from various countries like Afghanistan, Syria, Tanzania, Somalia, and more. I get to help these students in acquiring their English by pushing into their classes and by taking these students into my own class to teach curriculum. I do not have the right words to describe my students. They are strong, brilliant, silly, smart, and all with facing the challenges they do, daily. They are often put at a disadvantage compared to their native-english speaking peers, and I aim to close that gap as best as I can.
