We needed a large rug to gather together and a space for my students to comfortably sit. Kneeling on the hard floor or scooting over with a chair may work for the time being, but a cozy rug with defined square spaces for all children to fit will definitely help the transitions and lessons go more smoothly. My students are fourth and fifth graders in a Title 1 school with over 80% free- and reduced-lunch. We need all the support that we can get to succeed at school!
