Currently, my preschool/kindergarten classroom uses a kidney table and chairs to conduct our morning and afternoon group time. We have 13 children and the table is much too small. Some children sit on the floor but have difficulty attending because of the lack of flexible seating available. My students should be afforded the same educational environment they would receive outside of the special education classroom. The preschool/kindergarten classroom should be an inviting place where children can begin their educational journey in a safe, warm and comfortable environment that is conducive to their specific learning and sensory needs. A classroom rug, cube chairs, and bean bag chairs are essential and much deserved! Please help!
