I want to create a classroom reading corner for my students to read comfortably. Many of my students come from homes where they do not have books, or practice their reading skills. The classroom corner will motivate my mini-readers. The leveled books in the classroom library will help students begin to recognize sight words, while practicing phonics skills. My goal is for students to leave kindergarten as fluent readers, with the skill of comprehension. The reading corner will be used on a daily basis for guided and independent readers to grow.
