My students come from diverse backgrounds and cultures. They are extremely inquisitive and creative. They often come to me below grade level in math and reading. They want to excel, but often lack the skill set required. I love watching these children's eyes light up when they make a connection that brings meaning to them. When the light bulb turns on and reading becomes natural that child's entire life has changed. Most of my students are hard workers and really enjoy learning in different styles. Having technology to explore with gives them an opportunity to see and hear things they otherwise wouldn't be able to.
