Senior dance students will be given the opportunity to experience a professional and educational dance photoshoot. They will be equipped with the materials they need, experience of a professional photoshoot with an educational and confidence building component, and create memories which will honor and commemorate their 4 years of dance in high school. The young dancers will be able to take a workshop and participate in a photoshoot from which they will be able to walk away with a headshot and dance action shot through the organization: CONFIDANZ! Confidanz is series in partnership with GIBNEY’s Dance Company member Zui Gomez and photographer Gabriel Johnson from LEVUEstudios. These workshops cater to enhance the dancer’s knowledge from a photographer’s perspective, allowing them to know exactly what they’re walking into prior to participating in the photoshoot themselves. In addition to giving these young dancers the photographic materials they need to be able to pursue dance post high school, the true mission of this project is to help these young artists build their confidence through Confidanz! Each young artist will receive personal tools and guidance while receiving productive and positive affirmations throughout the process. During this experience we will build a little more confidence one photo at a time. Dancers will gain have a better comprehension of their most valuable instrument; their body. They will find their most satisfying angles, have the space to make choices, and gain knowledge around how promote themselves and pursue dance opportunities in the future.
