These materials will greatly enhance the Hayes art curriculum this year! I am planning on having a spring art show, which we weren't able to do the last 2 years due to COVID. I want to restart this positive community event and make it special by including a glow in the dark gallery. The materials I have listed will help us to achieve that goal. This project relates to Nevada Academic Content Standard Visual Art 5: VA:Pr.5.5.1 Collaboratively select works from student portfolios for curated presentation. All materials that are requested directly relate to Nevada Academic Content Standards and enrich the art curriculum at Hayes Elementary School. The following materials/projects will relate to Nevada Academic Content Standard VA:Cr2.5.1 Experiment and develop skills in multiple art-making techniques and approaches through practice. First, is the Model Magic as students at Hayes need a clay alternative in elementary art class as clay is discouraged due to COVID. This material will help me still teach the 3-D art standards that I am required to teach my students. CCSD Visual Art Standard (5)P.9 Produce a ceramic/mixed media object using varied media, techniques, and processes. Secondly, are the watercolor paints as they will also allow more students to explore transparent media this year, without sharing materials, which is discouraged in school with COVID. This relates to CCSD Visual Arts Standard (4)P.7aCreate a range of transparencies using transparent media. The paint brushes also help with eliminating the sharing of materials due to COVID. I appreciate any help that is given my Hayes Art Program and all materials will help revitalize and restore a dynamic art program!
