I have two projects that I allow my painting students to choose to start from. They can choose to create a black and white collage from magazines, or to create a pop art inspired self portrait. The students get to choose how they want to express themselves through their artwork, and by having these paints, it will given them more options and possibilities. Without these supplies, the students will be limited on what colors they can use, and it will also determine whether or not they will want to work on the projects. These students only have three colors to currently choose from in my class. With all of the added colors, the students will have more chances for self-expression in their artwork.
