Scholastic News Magazines are an exciting part of our First Grade experience. Students are always excited to read and learn about something new, practice their literacy skills, and bring their new knowledge home. These magazines help to build background knowledge in all of my students, but particularly my English Language Learners. Magazines that connect the world to our classroom and bridge the classroom to my students' homes are an integral part of keeping my students' engaged and excited about learning. Through the use of Scholastic Magazines, my students will have the opportunity to learn more about social studies and science topics in a way that engages them in discourse, reading, and writing with others.
