I previously taught at a brick-and-mortar school and am now able to teach at a fully virtual school. My students use a learning program to master material for algebra and pre-calculus online and I am there to facilitate and teach lessons as needed. Because of my previous experiences I am well aware of all the wonderful ways my students could be benefiting from technology in the classroom. I have tons of innovative ideas, lessons, and technology uses that would benefit their learning but unfortunately I am unable to do so without a computer capable of the technologies I am trying to provide. Some of my students don't have resources at home so I try to provide resources to them virtually (calculators, virtual reality experiences, document cameras, etc.), but the systems we are currently using crash frequently and are not conducive to learning - especially if 200 students are trying to use resources at the same time. I am trying to help my students grasp the concepts and tools a 21st century future surgeon, architect, designer, therapist, etc. might need. Please help my classroom benefit from the technology benefits of a laptop.
