With so many outside factors in the lives of a middle schooler, my Leadership class can help make a difference while students are at school. They are constantly learning how to include everyone, make every student feel part of the community, and build positive relationships. The books that we have chosen help show empathy, kindness, over coming struggles and working together to be the best version they can be. Getting back to books, and disconnecting from technology, will help give these students that face to face connection once again. My students will be able to reflect, and gain confidence in creating an environment that everyone wants to be a part of. I want to be able to have the "tough" conversations with students through analyzing and reflecting these books to help build a positive school culture. Everyone should be a part and want to be a part of the school community. I feel my leadership students can help get all students there.
