After being closed for several years, in 2015 our campus reopened as an Early Childhood Center. At that time, we served only 3- and 4-year olds. The second year we were open, our student body expanded to kindergarten and we incorporated a school library. However, the small library was housed in what had been a classroom. For each of the past three years, we have added a grade level and the library has remained in the repurposed classroom. This year, we are retaking the campus’s original 2200 sq. ft. library media center! The newly christened Library Learning Commons will accommodate research, story time, a technology area, a maker space, a self-checkout station, small-group learning areas, a podcast/video studio, and room for group presentations. The items included in this DonorsChoose.org request will help this space to be a cohesive, attractive hub for our students to learn, explore and grow.
